Most popular/used Rogue build?

So I've saved up about 665 ES and I have decided I'm going to buy Rogue as my next hero. I've been hearing a lot about her and how she is considered to be one of the best heroes.

The problem I'm having is I'm not sure how I should go about building her as there are many different powers you can steal. Therefore, I was hoping if someone could tell me the most widely used build on Rogue.

Rogues Run Raids?

Man... anyone else having trouble finding pick up groups to hit the raids with, to fill out the ol' power bank? Do we need to get an all Rogue run together?

ErikModi's Easy Peasy Rogue Build [HERO GUIDE 2017]

So, this is the first build I've ever posted. I mostly follow other people's builds. This is based heavily on a "Rogue Leveling Build" from pre-BUE, tweaked somewhat to taste.

Goals of this build are:

Be easy: A lot of Rogue builds I've seen require powers from Limbo bosses. Since that event is still a week or so away, This build focuses on powers Rogue players should easily be able to pick up by loitering in Avengers tower and "bad touch"ing anyone and everyone they see. The rotation is also simple and minimal, you don't really need to keep an eye on a lot of cooldowns or resources.

Disclaimer: There is one part of the build that does take some resource investment, to the tune of 2,150 Cosmic Worldstones. But it's worth it.

Be effective: I'm not a huge theorycrafter, numbercruncher, spreadsheetmaker, or min-maxer, but I do want my Heroes to not die. This Rogue build handles Heroic content very easily, I make no promises about Cosmic (I've only passed the Cosmic Trial on one character, Scarlet Witch).

Be fun: "Fun," to me, is being able to play well and easily. I don't want to feel like I'm learning a completely new game every time I switch heroes, and some heroes just aren't to my taste. Rogue can be built almost any way you like, so this build focuses on things I (generally) like my heroes to be able to do, while neglecting things I don't particularly care if they can do. I also like to switch heroes a lot, so I like to be able to pick up a hero, play them for a little bit, and then swap to somebody else if the mood strikes me. I can hop on this Rogue, run a terminal or two, then hop to Spider-Man, or Scarlet Witch, or Captain Marvel, without the buttons I'm hitting doing things I don't want (usually).

So, with all that out of the way, here's the build:

Powers:

Bone Claws (Wolverine): Bound to Left Mouse Button, your basic attack. Yes, I use a basic in this build, don't judge me. My Rogue does sometimes run into spirit issues, so this can be a lifesaver, and with its Life On Hit, it can be a literal lifesaver, letting you heal up while still getting some DPS in. That having been said, it is a Basic attack, so it's pretty lackluster all around. Still, when you've got nothing else, it's fun to shred things with Wolverine Claws.

Crimson Sweep (X-23): No, this isn't an "I want to be Wolverine so bad I can taste it" build. This is just the best power I could find that fit the criteria I wanted: Namely, a spammable spender attack that does Physical damage. It's an area attack, so it's not the boss-killer that, say, Solar Strike (Sunspot) is, but it does do Physical damage, hits an area (which is both good and bad), has bleed and vulnerability, and is pretty quick and cheap to boot. If you have another Physical spender you'd like to use instead, hey, I ain't gonna come to your house and tell you you're doing it wrong.

Magnetic Attraction (Magneto): This is one-half your bread-and-butter Area combo. Does solid damage, pulls in enemies, deals Energy damage.

Flames Of The Faltine (Clea): The other half of your bread-and-butter Area combo (which, I guess, would make it "butter"). Good Mental damage over time, great after you've grouped up all the enemies with Magnetic Attraction. Dropping this one-two punch should clear most trash, and take a significant chunk out of blues and yellows. Popping them both as their cooldowns expire will keep Bosses feeling the pain, and keep your Gear procs up.

Ragin' Cajun (Gambit): Hands down Rogue's best Stolen power (since, near as I can tell, it shows up in every single build she has). Pop it when you need the extra damage.

Gloves Off: Similar to Ragin' Cajun, pop this when you need extra damage/health on hit.

Drain Life/Recall Overload: With Rogue's new Power Library, keep Drain Life slotted on your bar until you've got all the powers. You'll probably never use most of them, but still, gotta catch 'em all! Once your done stealing powers, slot in Recall Overload. . . or not.

Kree Charge: Yadda yadda dash yadda yadda crowd control yadda yadda.

Rotation is pretty basic: Hit Magnetic Attraction, drop a Flames of the Faltine, and if anything's still standing, hold down Crimson Sweep until it isn't/you run out of Spirit (then switch to Bone Claws until you've rebuild your Spirit)/cooldowns on Magnetic Attraction and Flames of the Faltine refresh. Toss on Ragin' Cajun and/or Gloves Off if you need to spike your damage. Dash out of trouble. Steal powers you don't have.

Traits

Spider-Sense (Spider-Man, Spider-Gwen): Both Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen's stolen passives are exactly the same, so use whichever. You can see enemies on the minimap, get dodge rating, and more damage based on your Dodge to Core powers (and a few of Rogue's regular powers. . . but seriously, who uses those?)

Mutagenic Durability (Tombstone): Some health, some health regen, and adds Guarded. Half of making Rogue super-tanky.

Lizard Serum (Lizard): The other half of making Rogue super-tanky. More Health and Spirit regen than frelling Deadpool. With this, life-on-hit from a few sources, and Rogue's Durability, you have no excuse for dying. Really, none at all. Don't care if Juggernaut just tap-danced on your forehead, walk it off.

Rogue's Talents

Rogue only has three talents, she can slot three stolen passive traits from other characters.

First Tier: I went with Psionic Recall, but. . . well, really, it probably doesn't matter.

Second Tier: Mimetic Mutation. Adds damage and reduces Spirit costs of Stolen powers, which, since those are the only ones we're using. . . yes?

Drain Dry: Honestly, I'm thinking Rogue's Drain powers are going to be better than her Sig anyway, so why not buff them?

Infinity System

Space: The final frontier. These are. . . oops, wrong game. Here, obviously, you want Durability. Not-so-obviously, you also want Co-Location, which increases your Dodge rating. Why? Well, you've got that Spider-Sense, put it to good use! The better your Dodge, the more damage you'll do.

Time: You know, if the Space Gem came after the Time Gem, there'd be a killer Doctor Who joke in here somewhere. Anyway, Bone Claws is already pretty fast, but you can put some points in Temporal Loophole if you want. I have most of mine in Haste, for lack of anything more attractive. But bumping Speed itself could be fun if nothing else trips your trigger (all about that Dodge rating, baby.)

Mind: Now here, we're almost spoilt for choice. Mind Over Matter is great for reinforcing the already-robust health we're getting off Bone Claws and Lizard Serum, but for those who want more time spending, Deep Thought and Calculated Efficiency are good choices. Honestly, I'd max all three if I had the points.

Power: Indomitable, keeping up with our "Rogue is tanky" theme. Or Potency, if you like her Sig.

Reality: Inner Resilience (More life-on-hit), Tilt The Odds and Magic Bullet. Depending on if you want more tankiness, more DPS, or a balance.

Soul: Fighting ('coz Rogue's all fighty like that), God Among Insects, Strike True, and/or Strike Through. Again, depending on where you want to fall in the tanky/bruty scale.

Synergies

Captain Marvel: Buff that Energy Damage.

Dr. Strange: Buff that Mental Damage.

Emma Frost: With this build, Rogue as two damage-over-time powers, but the real win here is +1 Durability.

Ghost Rider: Buff that Mental Damage.

Jean Grey: Buff that Mental and Energy Damage.

Luke Cage: Defense (fitting Rogue's Archetype) and Physical Damage.

Rogue: Health and Spirit on hit.

She-Hulk: Physical Damage and Health Regen for. . . well, you know.

Spider-Man: More Dodge.

Thor: Buff that Physical and Energy Damage.

Gear

I'm lazy (and underfunded), so I usually just use a hero's specific Uniques in Slot 1-5.

For a Catalyst, if you can find with with bonuses to Physical, Mental, and Energy damage, then you're good. Otherwise, my favorite affixes tend to be Life-On-Hit, Regen 25% with Medkit, and the Damage Shield Cosmic bonus.

For an Insignia, I'm using an Insignia of Cyclops for the team buff effects, with Critical and Brutal Rating.

For a pet, you want the +3 Durability or Fighting bonus. The rest is pretty standard from hero to hero, +health, +spirit, and so on.

For a Legendary, I'm using. . . drumroll please. . . yeppers, The Power Cosmic. Since this build hits all three damage types, you can get great buffs off this handy little device. If you can't nab a Power Cosmic (Moonstone's still there, you know) you can put any other decent Legendary on her until the next Cosmic Chaos event rolls around.

For Relics, I use Atlantis on Rogue, though you could go for Lemuria or Subterrena if you want more tankiness.

Artifacts are. . . well, I need to do some work on that after the BUE. I'd go with an Advanced Crimson Circlet of Cyttorak for the Durability (replace/supplement with a White Suit Jacket if you've got it), Doop Ectoplasm (again, proccing off those three damage types), and a Spider-Clone Serum (for the Fighting). Last slot I'd add something to boost Mental or Energy damage, as you see fit, or more for Rogue's primary stats. For Blessings, I run two Hela and two Fandral (for that sweet, sweet Dodge rating). Doop Ectoplasm is also available from Moonstone, for 500 Cosmic Worldstones.

For a Medallion, I'm using a Cosmic Skrull Imposter Nick Fury Medallion. Juggernaut's a solid choice for more Durability.

Uru-Forged is a War Plate, with, of course, The Power Doop. Keep the Energy/Mental/Physical damage rotation of your powers up, and you'll be getting mad buffs from this, Doop Ectoplasm, and The Power Cosmic. The Power Doop recipe is available from Moonstone for 400 Cosmic Worldstones, and you can buy Doop Runes (needed to actually add the Runeword) for 500 Worldstones.

For lack of anything else that really jumped out at me, I'm using a Bloodstone Demonband with +250 damage on melee powers, Regen 63 Health when you defeat a demon, +1 Energy, Strength, and Durability, and 11.6 Summoned Ally Duration. Really, you kinda can't go wrong with a ring for Rogue, since it'll buff at least one of the kinds of damage she dishes out. My preference would be for Physical or Melee damage, since that's your spam attack, but whatever stats you think you need more of after running her a bit, look for a ring to help out.

Well, that's pretty much it. Hopefully this helps get some Rogue players (especially newer ones) on their feet.

Powers w/ "Rank 1" Scaled Affixes

$

Rogue has a lot of powers. I don't think anyone is shocked they didn't all convert over flawlessly with the BUE. A flaw in this conversion that I've found as a running theme is that many powers that used to have non-damage affixes that scaled with rank before the BUE are now locked to what was their "Rank 1" value. That often leaves these powers grossly under-performing compared to their previous versions, since even a 1-point wonder got boosted to Rank 31 by gear. The point of this thread is to consolidate and highlight those powers, so that the devs can quickly balance them without having to wait until they have time to fully review Rogue's power library.

Apologies for the formatting. This is the best Vanilla can do. It should paste nicely into Excel though. Some of those aren't dead-on exact values, since I'm working from my guide's old archives and not a live game I can reference. Should be close enough for this purpose though.

Knockdowns/Stuns were likely intentional changes, since it was strange some powers scaled and others didn't. However, there's a pretty big difference in usability between a 3s stun and a 1s stun, the later of which is barely noticeable vs. the animation time invested to get it. Hopefully a CC review isn't too far off on the horizon. Slow is not that noticeable, given the range of difference on display. Summons other than I AM GROOT! are at their former Rank 5 Health values, rather than Rank 1. Grootlings are much more appropriately tuned at around Rank 38, likely because traits got a much closer eye on them during the conversion than active powers. Healing and Spirit are very noticeable in their downgraded states -- especially the two Basics on the list. K'un-Lun Styles gets special mention for what is effectively a 0.2% damage bonus, since Vulnerability effects don't stack (it's not listed as Vulnerability, but the engine treats it as one). That's still good for a chuckle every time it comes up.

Some of these were already arguably pretty bad powers before, like Reaping Scythes and Simian Strength. While I'd love to get into that topic at length, I'm going to keep that out of the opening post. But don't let me stop any of you from arguing that a certain power is better off revamped rather than retuned. That's still valuable feedback all the same. There are other powers I felt were out of whack in terms of tuning, but weren't blatantly at or near Rank 1 levels and so fell out of scope for this particularly list. Next time.

Shifting Sands Stance

Anyone else using this? I am running a (mostly) Suntank build (/salute @Frostacus for his good work) with more emphasis on Dodge (affixes and blessings, left over from a pre-BUE experiment I was working on before I took a break). For the third passive (Spider-Man and Thing locked in) I've been trying out Shifting Sands the last few days and it has been surprisingly good! Running cosmic challenges, patrols, terminals, danger room, red raids with success. Almost zero deaths even with the lowered health. I have been very pleasantly surprised. I was curious to hear other's thoughts/experiences with this passive.

Ideas for all crashing-impact-power build?

$

0

This is kind of silly, but I was thinking of trying to do a build just using powers where Rogue flies and slams herself into enemies, as these are some of the most fun powers to use and fit my image of Rogue as a flying brawler. Something like:

Rubble Slam
Elektra's Shadow Strike
Angel's Flanked From Above
Blob's Belly Flop
Rhino's Devastating Charge
Kitty's Ground Phase
Kree Charge
Recall Overload (with Kinetic Recall)

I was going to put Lawyer Up in there, but it's currently bugged. I'd also like to use Supersonic Cyclone, which kind of fits the theme and has that important invulnerability that I'm used to using with her health kit when she's in trouble. I could switch it for Belly Flop (since I can't decide whether that animation is hilarious or ridiculous) or, if I want to be really hardcore about it, use it instead of her signature.

Nova's Blast Off would also fit the theme, but it does energy damage and it seems like it would be easier to gear if all the powers did physical damage.

Any powers I'm missing that fit the theme? Vaulting Uppercut and Ariel Onslaught might also work, but I'm kind of interested in the challenge of trying to keep an all-impact-and-dash rotation flowing.

Any ideas for which passives would work best with this build? Is there another active buff that would be worth using?

I think they havent started yet with this costume,so i hope they will take a look.
This picture (minus that face) would be perfect.

As you can see her body looks great, but i would like to see changes with jacket(color,sleeves,x-simbol), belt, and most important hair (big curly hair with white part on top of the head). I dont know who is going to work on her,but @Lord please lt them change/add those details.
I have to add that i have nothing against sculptured hair if it would look like this,it was time of hair sprays anyway.Just my opinion.
We definitely need new face, and i think that Age of X face with red lipstick, new make up and green eyes will look great.

few more pictures

And last but not least thing. As i said her body looks great but i think its going to be updated,so pls be careful. Rogue's booty is in top 3 in game and it should stay there :P

I know @Lord is the guy who should be tagged, but since he is not on forum very often,I will tag few more dev in hope they will pass the information. @KomoriMan @TheDink @YoungNg @Asros @PsiLocke pls make us happy

Welcome to my Rogue Absolutely Obliterates Everything build. I'm going to try to keep this as organized as possible. Rotation

Your first instinct will probably be to open with Rubble Slam, you would be wrong.

Wrath of Muspelheim/Hell Rides + Ragin Cajun' > Rubble Slam > Channel Pyrotechnic Burst for 2 or 3 seconds > Extreme Drain > Resume channel of Pyrotechic Burst until 20 stacks > Rubble Slam > Dash 4 times > Wrath/Hells OR Chaotic Hex once > Reapply Rajun Cajin' if off cooldown . Recall Overload > Run around until duration is over > Reapply Rajin Cajun (if not cast before Sig) and Extreme Drain, recast Wrath/Hells then spam Chaotic Hex for the next 8 seconds > after 8 seconds rotation starts over.

Open by simultaneously using Rajin Cajun' and Wrath of Musplheim/Hell Rides, THEN jump in with Rubble Slam. Start channeling Pyrotechnic Burst for about 2 or 3 seconds, then use Extreme Drain and quickly resume channeling Pyrotechnic Burst (you have 2 seconds before the stacks fall off after casting). Channel until you hit 20 stacks. DON'T activate Recall Overload yet. First you want to dash 4 times in a row, refilling any lost spirit AND buffing your crit chance by 10%. If your Wrath/Hell has 1 second or less of cooldown left, wait, if not, cast 1 Chaotic Hex, recast Ragin Cajun if you can (don't wait for the cool down) then immediately activate Recall Overload. It's important to keep moving because you'll also be leaving a trail of fiery damage thanks to Pyrotechnic Burst. When Recall Overload ends, your Chaotic Hex will be buffed to max efficiency for 10 seconds (Yes, the buff starts AFTER the Sig ends and it's 5 bolts at 10k damage each). Recast Wrath/Hell (if you can), reapply Ragin Cajun and Extreme Drain and then dash once before you start the Chaotic Hex spam. Spam this until the duration ends. After that the rotation more or less starts over. This sounds way more complicated that it sounds. There are a lot of things to take into consideration in order to really maximize your damage. But once you slip into the rhythm, it's actually quite simple.

Elephant in the room stuff

So this is where I try to pre-emptively address any questions and explain my though process behind this build.

No, I didn't forget about hero synergies. There are way too many build possibilities here. This is quite literally a time where you just pick what you like and go crazy.

First of all, I love this build. There is so much synergy here between the skills and items. It's partially why the rotation is seemingly so complicated. There's a lot of different stats to juggle. This is a very active build, not a hold left click to win build.

Let's talk quickly about how things synergize. At 20 stacks, Pyrotechnic Burst gives you a 20% damage boost for 10 seconds. Everytime you teleport, the midtown signet gives you up to 30% base damage. If you dash 4 times in a row, Beast's passive gives you 10% crit rate. You're getting +4 Fighting from a Cosmic War Skrull medal, which is even MORE crit rate. The Power Cosmic gives you 1500 DR per element AND + 3 to all Stats. The Reality Grenade is giving you Crit and Brute rate and a huge area damage rating. We're also getting damage boosts from Thing's passive and Memetic Mutation. Recall Overload buffs Chaotic Hex. Which in turns increases the crit rate of Rajin Cajun' since it procs for each bolt that hits (5 bolts), which in turns feeds back and increases the damage of Chaotic Hex which already has high base damage for that 10 seconds after Recall Overload ends.

So, why so much defense? The Shield of Perseus is out of the question, without the Power Cosmic, this build loses a lot of it's power. Since this is a melee range AOE build, we need more than just stacks of HP and the medkit shield to protect ourselves. Even with 35k HP, bosses can and will kill you out of nowhere if you don't have some form of damage mitigation. Secondly, the reason we're stacking so much durability on our slotted gear is because it adds an extra 2600 HP as opposed to the 2.5% crit rate. The more health you have, the more health Extreme Drain heals. That skill is basically a second medkit for you.

I don't know what my TTK is, I've never really tested it. All I know is I'm clearing cosmic terminals quite easily and that's good enough for me.

Why not Doop Ectoplasm? Honestly, this could go either way. GoK is pretty much the ONLY item there that I used simply because I didn't know of or have anything better to put here. When I tested it against a Doop Ectoplasm, the clear times really didn't feel any different to me. I'm open to giving it another chance, I don't think I'll ever be "finished" with this build.

I really really wanted to use a Skrull Mighty Hammer for the Slot 1, but when all was said and done, while the damage was more or less the same, the FoT had the edge in survivability, not because of the LoH (because that mechanic doesn't seem to liek this build), but because of the sheer amount of health and auto-ress it had over the Hammer. The only other bit of Rogue's personal uniques that I felt weren't all that useful was the Slot 3. The power duration alone on the Military Uniform makes this an invaluable items. Between all her slots and the medallion I have just about 100% uptime on Ragin Cajun' (need better rolls on some gear).

I personally didn't think an Essence of Jinn was an improvement over her own Slot 5

Sooooooo I think that's everything. This is my first build so be gentle, but feel free to ask any questions. More importantly, feel free to make this build your own. I encourage anyone to take this idea and really improve upon it.

Rogue's problem with her powers shouldn't exist in the Marvel Comic World. Geniuses can fix that.

$

Rogue whole problem is that she can't know closeness and touch people she cares about and is afraid of acidental touch with random people while not being covered by fabric.

Mister Fantastic after he and his familty transformed quickly made 3 costumes that can: go invisible with the user, not burn no matter the temperature, stretch and stretch back without changing shape. After this he didn't get dumber but smarter and know his stuff better.

Stark gave Petter Parker an Iron Spider suit that could with thought become normal cloths, become invisible, become skin tight spidey suit or armored suit. Stark made a lot of siuts and if working on a different project than armor he could help - he had costume inside his bones and a living symbiote fluid armor.

Throwing to the mix pym particles that would be able to further improve qualities of the suit allowing her to shrink and grow back parts of it. She could have: Invisible, super durable, super thin layer over her skin [and even inside her mouth] that wouldn't allow her powers to absorb anything she doesn't want to. This layer would be thought controlled and could be moved from places like hands in an instant to let her suck powers from bad guys.

But we know that Reed Richards is useless and that's her thing so it can't be changed. Status quo is a god after all.

Is Summoner Rogue Viable with new Summon Damage Stat?

$
0
0

Now that Summon Damage has been rework, is Summoner Rogue viable again? She appears to only have 1 summon based stolen passive so I'm not sure what to do with the other 2 slots. Her abilities are pretty easy to figure out (5 summons, sig, and 2 spenders -- maybe 1 spender and Nick Fury). I'm mostly wondering about gear though. Rogue is the only hero that can be a pure summoner -- only having 1 non-summon ability if you take Nick Fury. With the SDR budget roughly giving twice as much DR per affix should this be something I am gearing for or should I focus on CDR/BDR and core stats just like every other summoner?

What's the feeling on the new cosmic gear stat values?

Those new numbers look mighty hefty. With builds like Molecular Spider/Sun Tank that really squeeze out every drop of value, do the raw numbers beat out Uniques in any way?

I know this is a general question, but I've been living as Rogue and X-23 in game, and a bunch of Rogue's loot is when I started wondering.

Body Guard for "stealthy" ranged Rogue build?

I'm building a Chaotic Hex / Rapid Signature build, leveraging Invisibility and Memories of a Living Weapon to boost my sig and Cyclone. I'd like to add a summon to the mix (replacing a healing power I don't use much) to act as a meat shield, and to keep enemies from wandering out of my cyclone. My first reflex is to use Ice Golems, but I'm also considering hypnotizing a buddy with Psychic Domination.

Thoughts on which would provide the better henchman?

Title pretty much says it all. The tooltip for the She-Hulk Lawyer Up ability says it should refresh whenever you use Rogues native Rubble Slam power or any Impact type power. Rubble slam is not refreshing that duration.

Had anyone tried a theme build of sort?

Just curious, has anyone perfected a viable build that only uses powers that fit a certain theme, just for the purpose of fun? You know, themes like "Inhumans", "Agents if S.H.I.E.L.D.", "Avengers", etc.? It would be quite a challenging experience since we'd have to balance out viable and picking powers from a pool that's "fitting the theme".

Haven't done one of these before so bare with me. I am broke and don't have the time or skills to run more. But this is a Rogue summoners build that was able to get through CT with time to spare on both parts.

I do have most powers for Rogue but Limbo villains so this is a very....very easy build....trust.

Dur - 26 Spd - 9
Str - 15 Eng - 9
Fig - 34 Int - 7
Armor issued Nano poison +2 in stats
Crossbones +2 str, +221 brut everything else was 40% or less in the red
Juggy Med - average stats
Tasky guide - all yellow stats
Demonicus Book - +3
Rune of Atlantis - 15 of them
Defense uru - Lvl 50 Power Doop (Crit 1150, Brut 3522, Dam Rat 451)
Power Cosmic - only at rank 3 not full rank 5 yet.
Range Sling ring

All of Rogue's unique gear, no stat challenge bonus and no blessings.

Genetic mutation - regular, no cosmic or sig bonuses.
Insignia of Cyclops - 1108 Crit, 6.2 Att Spd.
Flourish - pick one.
Pet - HERBIE - +3 fighting only, was working on filling the rest.

I went in to CT on accident. I did finish with 13 seconds to spare.

Lft Mouse - Cyke's eyebeam
A - Iceman golem
S - Magik's summon
D - Jubilee's fireworks
F - Moleman Moloids
G - Loki's summons
H - Rogue's sig
Rt Mouse - Power steal

Trick just keep them off of you, keep your summons out sig when up, time it well so Madam hydra doesn't get her summon out and before her shield comes up. So get your sigs out early.

Red Skull - Sig him first. Keep summons out. Sig right after shield drops and you destroy the Sentinel. When he is down to 1/3 = Ultimate. Fire all quickly, if he is still alive after that. Sig - jubilee, blast Cyke till your eyeballs fall out. Even I was shocked when he fell. My gear sucked but, know that I know what stats to build it wasn't too bad.

Hope this helps other broke, time conscious people.

Sorry there are not pics. But couldn't get that to work either.
